Hi and welcome! I’m Lori, the publisher of EatInEatOut MAGAZINE and I also do all the cooking, writing and photography here on THE BLOG.
Let me start by saying… I love magazines. Design magazines. Food magazines. Decorating magazines. I read them all, saving the really great issues to go back to year after year. Food magazines are totally the best, that’s where the inspiration for some of my favorite go-to recipes have come from.
It turns out my love of foodie magazines has worked out really well for me. I’m a graphic designer running an agency working in the food industry… yeah! After years of designing print magazines for clients, I’ve spent the last three years creating an online-interactive magazine that is truly unique, beautiful and mostly for you. I’m really proud of EIEO magazine, so I invite you check out the past issues on the Magazine page and tell me what you think.
But what happens between issues? I decided to create THE BLOG as a place where I could share my food creations, posting twice a week throughout the year. I love creating, photographing and sharing delicious dishes, so I thought why not do it more often!
I’m a home cook, I don’t have any special training, just a love of cooking and, of course, eating! One of the things at the top of my ‘totally love it’ list is cake. In an utterly transparent excuse to eat it more often, I began Cake-of-the-Month and it’s become a huge hit! My all-time favourite cake recipe is One-Pan Double Chocolate Cake; simple, moist and perfect every time. Starting in 2015 this tradition will continue as Sweet-of-the-Month, exploring not only cake, but cupcakes, muffins, loaves, squares, cookies…
So why blog? Learning more about the journey of cooking, photography and the business of food is fun! Sharing these yummy recipes with other food lovers and offering ideas to help people enjoy healthy (or occasionally decadent) food is also fun. I promise to pass along recipes that are simple, healthy (most of the time), and always delicious.
