The best and worst of a really bitter month.

I am so glad to see the back-end of February! It just plain sucked. Here’s four reasons why…

1 – Where I am, in Toronto, February 2015 is on track to be the coldest month of February ON RECORD. That says a lot, after all it’s Canada man. With a combination of heavy work load and the bitter cold, I’ve been stuck inside, honestly, for the whole month. I’ve got to get out more…

2 – My hubby quit his job, and went back 5 days later… long story, don’t ask.

3 – One of my babies, Rocky, woke up one morning and was paralyzed down one side. I thought he’d had a stroke and maybe this was it for him.

Rocky Turns out he had a condition… really long name… that is sort of a mini-stroke in the inner ear. Common to older dogs, it gave him really severe vertigo. You know, room spinning, can’t stand or walk. The good news is that after 3 weeks of TLC he is fully recovered… yah! Now on to May 20th, it’s going to be his 15th birthday!!!

4 – That brings us to the blog. Not that great a month for traffic – food letdown after the holidays I guess. Having said that, there were 4 recipes you really liked! Some of you missed them because you have not signed up for my weekly recipe posts… why not?… here’s the link…. no excuses now. As a not-so-subtle reminder and to entice you more, here are the top 4 recipes from February and a second chance (for some of you) to give them a try. Enjoy!

Cauliflower-Pineapple-Fried-Rice_1 #4 – CAULIFLOWER PINEAPPLE FRIED RICE – this was a super-tasty recipe that is fast and really simple.

Cauliflower-Bean-Salad-Makeover_1 #3 – HEALTHY CAULIFLOWER BEAN SALAD – I gave an old favourite a heathy makeover. I must try!

Chocolate-Cherry-Sweetheart-Brownies_3 #2 – BLEEDING HEART CHOCOLATE-CHERRY BROWNIES – These brownies are awesome,. Moist, sweet, tart, and oh so delicious.

Slow Cooker Chicken Gumbo_3 #1 – SLOW COOKER CHICKEN GUMBO – This was the last recipe, and the most popular. I’m not sure why… maybe you guys can tell me? Is it the chicken, is it the slow cooker? Is it just the comfort food yumminess?

Great, eh? Remember, sign up for my weekly recipe posts… here is the link.

Well that’s it, on to March!
